Matt Williams

Associated Artist

Matt Williams left behind a thirty- year career in trades to follow his natural path as a sculptor. Matt uses his natural creativity while drawing on skills honed as a tradesman to create unique and striking sculptures from discarded materials.

On a monumental scale, his animals are both recognisable and inventive. Williams captures their movement, strength and personality while allowing the industrial qualities of the materials to remain visible. He gives discarded materials a new purpose and, in doing so, creates works that celebrate both the resilience of nature and the possibilities of transformation.
