Ron Roach
Sculpture Garden Resident Artist
Ron Roach is an eclectic Australian artist whose creative practice moves freely between sculpture, painting, mosaic and stained glass. Working across a diverse range of materials and techniques, Ron embraces experimentation and a hands-on approach, allowing each artwork to evolve in its own unique direction.
His work draws inspiration from the Australian landscape, its distinctive wildlife and the stories embedded in the country’s history. Animals, natural forms and familiar Australian environments often find their way into his work, reimagined through bold colour, texture and unexpected combinations of materials.
Ron’s influences extend beyond the visual world. Music, history and the characters and experiences that shape Australian culture all contribute to his creative language. This eclectic mix of influences is reflected in a body of work that can shift from playful and colourful to reflective and atmospheric, often bringing together elements that might not traditionally sit side by side.
Whether working with glass, stone, paint, metal or found materials, Ron approaches art with curiosity and a willingness to explore. His work celebrates the freedom to create without being confined to a single style or medium — a reflection of his belief that inspiration can be found everywhere.
