South Gippsland is a truly unique region, rich in artistic talent - but sparse in terms of infrastructure and opportunities for the creative folk who live here. In 2022 our director Lucy Hersey saw this gap, and curated the first iteration of “The Secret Garden” exhibition showcasing eight local artists, which was held in the Loch Public Hall as an immersive installation, with workshops and demonstrations. After the extraordinary local support and success of the first show, ‘Return to the Secret Garden’ and ‘Beyond the Secret Garden’ followed, with the annual artist run exhibition now a hallmark of the creative calendar. This show gives emerging artists an opportunity to exhibit, often for the first time, with loads of support - and most importantly, all profits from sales being returned to the artist (no fees to show, and no commission are taken by On Clarence). This is our gift to our artist community, and it is a joy to share the works of our friends.
